About us
Who we are and why we exist
Ayaam-e-Fatima (S.A.) is a volunteer-run, non-profit Shi'a Ithna Ashari community organisation dedicated to promoting the life, virtues, stature and struggles of Sayyidah Fāṭimah az-Zahrā (s.a.).
A community gathered around her memory
We are not a mosque and we are not a charity with paid staff. We are a group of families who believe that the life of Sayyidah Fāṭimah (s.a.) — her virtues, her household, her patience and the wrongs she endured — deserves to be known, understood and carried into daily life.
Our work is concentrated in the days of the anniversary of her martyrdom, known as Ayyaam-e-Fatimiyyah, when we hold lectures, mourning gatherings and majalis. But the work does not stop there: through the year we publish articles, record and archive lectures, and support families in the community.
Everything we do is free and open to all. We do not turn anyone away, we do not require membership, and we do not charge for admission. The programme is paid for entirely by the community it serves.
What we believe about her station
We do not claim to add anything to the rank Allah has given her. We simply repeat what the Qur'ān and the Prophet (s.a.w.w.) have said, as transmitted through the Ahl al-Bayt (a.s.): that she is one of the People of the House purified by Allah (33:33), that she is a part of the Prophet, that she is the leader of the women of the worlds, and that her contentment is inseparable from his.
In the Shi'a tradition, Sayyidah Fāṭimah (s.a.) is one of the Fourteen Infallibles (maʿṣūmīn) — the Prophet, Fāṭimah, and the Twelve Imāms (a.s.). She is the only woman among them, and the only one who is not a Prophet or an Imām. Her ʿiṣmah (infallibility) is established by the Verse of Purification, which includes her among the Ahl al-Bayt whom Allah has purified with a thorough purification.
Where narrations differ — on the exact length of her life, on the details of her final days — we present the Shi'a accounts honestly and let the reader consult the sources. Our concern is not to win arguments, but to keep her memory alive and her example present.
How we are run
Ayaam-e-Fatima (S.A.) is governed by a small board of trustees and run day-to-day by a team of volunteers. We publish our accounts annually and we welcome questions from the community at any time.

Our history
How the community grew
-
In the beginning
A handful of families
The community began with a small number of families who wished to mark Ayyaam-e-Fatimiyyah properly — with a proper majlis, a speaker who could be heard, and a hall that could hold everyone who came.
-
The first programme
Ten nights of majālis
What began as one gathering on one night grew into a full programme of ten nights: lectures, mourning gatherings, a women's programme and a children's session.
-
Going public
Every majlis recorded
We began recording every lecture and publishing it freely. Families who had moved away, and those who had never been able to attend, could now listen — and still can.
-
Today
Run entirely by volunteers
The community is governed by a small board of trustees and run day to day by volunteers. We publish our accounts annually and we welcome questions at any time.
